Don is a family

Practice
Over
the years, Don has acted for clients in all aspects of family law,
including property division, maintenance, custody/access issues, to
restraining orders. He has also advised clients on Prenuptial Agreements,
Cohabitation or Marriage Agreements, as well as Separation Agreements. Don
was recently involved in a case at the B.C. Court of Appeal, which dealt
with the obligation of a parent to support an adult child through a post
graduate degree at University.

Philosophy
Don believes in practical, pragmatic solutions; if a settlement
can be negotiated in a fairly short period of time, that is usually the
cheapest alternative for the client. Normally, the likelihood of
settlement can be determined in a fairly short time. If it appears that
the negotiations will be protracted, Don believes that by commencing
litigation earlier rather than later, this will save his clients time and
money.

Experience
Don took his Undergraduate degree at the University of Victoria,
and studied law at the University of British Columbia. He has practiced
family law in BC since 1974, and currently, about 80% of his practice is
in family law related matters.
